Our own click-event payload does not deliberately include a name, email address or IP address. It does include URLs and timestamps, and infrastructure may separately record request details. We do not describe those records as anonymous.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or another person's private information unless necessary to explain your enquiry.

Where UK GDPR applies, our operational processing relies on legitimate interests in delivering and securing the website, responding to enquiries and understanding retailer-link use. We rely on legal obligations where processing is necessary to handle statutory requests or keep legally required records. Consent applies where required for optional tracking; our current controls and their limitations are explained below. These operational interests do not override a legal requirement to obtain consent.

Cookies and affiliate services

We use cookies for consent choices and regional suggestions. Our Cookie Policy describes the first-party cookies, their duration and current controls.

Convertlink, a Mitgo affiliate service, is integrated into the website to monetise retailer links. Loading its external script sends a request to that service, including network information needed to make the connection, and can enable further processing of browsing and referral information. Affiliate attribution may use cookies or similar technologies.

Current consent limitations: Convertlink waits for marketing acceptance on fresh UK, German and French page visits. It can load without acceptance on US, Australian and shared pages, including legal pages. This depends on the page visited. Rejecting optional cookies does not currently block it on every page, and a script already loaded may remain active during navigation. The banner should therefore not be treated as a universal opt-out from affiliate processing. Contact us with questions or concerns about this processing.

Our active affiliate programmes include Awin, Impact and Amazon Associates. When you follow a retailer link or buy a product, the retailer and relevant affiliate service may process referral and transaction information. We may receive commission reports. Retailers handle payment, fulfilment and customer accounts under their own policies. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Providers and other recipients

We use OVHcloud for hosting, Cloudflare for website delivery, security and storage, and Google Workspace for correspondence. These services receive information needed to perform their functions. Affiliate services and retailers process referrals as described above; their responsibilities and uses also depend on their own terms and privacy notices.

Information may also be disclosed where legally required, in connection with a legal claim or suspected abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

International processing

Our registered office is in the UK. Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. Protections can differ between countries. Contact us for information about the destinations and safeguards relevant to your information or a particular service. This notice does not treat a provider's general terms as proof that a particular transfer safeguard applies to every processing activity.

How long we keep information

  • Server logs: up to 90 days.
  • Correspondence: up to two years after our last reply, unless a longer period is needed for a legal obligation or dispute.
  • Affiliate and accounting records: retention depends on the record's purpose, applicable accounting obligations and any unresolved payment or legal dispute.
  • Cookies: the configured periods in our Cookie Policy. Cookie expiry does not determine how long a recipient retains information already received.

Backup copies may remain until the applicable backup cycle expires. Ask us about the retention or deletion of a particular record when making a privacy request. Third-party services set their own retention periods for information they control.

Your choices and rights

Contact us using the details above to ask about your information. Depending on the law applying to the processing, you may have rights to access, correct or delete information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive portable data where the conditions apply. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing; this does not affect earlier lawful processing. See the Cookie Policy for the current limits of the website controls.

We may request proportionate information to verify your identity. We respond within the applicable legal deadline and explain any lawful extension or refusal. Under UK GDPR, requests are generally handled within one month, subject to applicable exceptions and extensions. Requests are normally free; any lawful exception will be explained.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Where EU data-protection law applies, you may also complain to your competent supervisory authority. You do not have to contact us first to exercise a complaint right.

If Australian privacy law applies to your information, applicable access, correction and complaint rights remain available. You can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about complaints.

US state privacy rights depend on the law and whether it applies to the business and processing. These may include access, correction, deletion and opt-outs from sale, sharing or targeted advertising, as well as appeal or authorised-agent rights where applicable. Email us to exercise an applicable right. This notice does not characterise every affiliate disclosure as exempt from sale or sharing rules. We do not penalise people for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Security and children

We use measures intended to protect information, including HTTPS and access controls. No website can guarantee complete security. We assess incidents and notify regulators and affected people when applicable legal thresholds require it.

Our content is intended for adults choosing home office equipment. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes

We update this notice when our practices change and show the updated date above. Where required, we provide additional notice or obtain consent before new processing starts.
